Whole garden redesign process: mission and vision, compost area, boulevard proposal, permaculture design, everyone wants more gardening space, growing more food for more people, more community participation, education and skill sharing, mutual aid with neighborhood food justice&sovereignty work, accessibility, etc.

  • Herb, perennial flower, medicine

    • Linnea and Dave are helping in the herb garden

    • Signs-Lindsey met with Fawn. Fawn will start putting up signs for some of the shared areas as well as the D&O plots. Fawn and I also talked about that the sign project might be able to fund a chalkboard (esp for youth practice language, and also garden event/meeting info) plus plexi covered bulletin board for posters and community resources to the right of the little free library, and some other ideas for external signage in Dakota and Ojibwe. We also talked a little bit about the Sharps disposal box project and where that’s at. Ryan and Linnea are also both brainstorming with me on sign/label stuff that the Language project might not cover.

Workshop proposal for youth programming with mpls parks and rec youth from Joe

Garden as location for Edible Boulevards Cooking Class- Michelle is looking for a Southside Community Garden location for either the August or October https://fb.me/e/2ynBBnTjA

Info from Michelle on what they are looking for and timeline stuff:

For most of the gardens, we're asking people to bring their own chairs and blankets, but if there are a few chairs there for people who might not have a chair to bring, that'd be awesome. The main things we'd need?

  •  a table if you have one for them to cook at.

  • Is there a power supply? If there's access to a power supply at the garden, that might change what we'd be able to make. If not, then it'll be something raw, which is fine too.

Kelly Shay will be teaching the classes in August and October. We'd need to know the location for August by the second Friday in July (is that the 9th?) since I create the event that night and then we advertise it at the cooking class the next day so people know where we'll be next and what they'll be learning. Does that sound doable? I'm also checking with a garden in North Minneapolis to take one of the two dates.

Budget review

Ongoing Garden Tasks

Plants in the Herb Garden

What other tasks do we need to ask for help? (lindsey needs help doing meeting outreach)

Maybe sending out a skill-share survey would help? (so check boxes with needs, plus blank fields for free text?)
